ROI stands for Release of Information. The purpose of the ROI is to record the fact that you informed the client that their information is going to be entered in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) by reading them the Privacy Script. Every client must have an ROI entered in WellSky's HMIS system. If the script has not been read to the client their information should not be entered into HMIS.

How will I know if a client has an ROI or not? 

At the top of each client record is a line that shows if the client has a current ROI or not. A teal date means that the client has a current ROI. A red “none” means they do not have a current ROI.

How do I add in an ROI?

Go to the ROI tab and click on Add Release of Information. Then follow the rules in the image below.

Do I need to get a signed ROI?

No, Lane County does not require paper documentation for the Privacy Script which is entered into HMIS. However, some funding sources do require you have a signed ROI maintained in your files. Make sure you understand any contract rules for your funding sources.
