ROI and Privacy Script

The ROI status is visible at the top of the client's profile in ClientPoint. If the ROI is green, no other action is needed. This means that the client has already had the privacy script read to them by your agency.


If client does not have an ROI in place, you will read them the privacy script (English and Spanish below):


In order to best assist you, we use a database to manage our services.   Your information is visible to a limited number of Lane County social service providers and protected using the highest standards.  Law enforcement and DHS have no access to this system.  Allowing your information to be viewed allows us to better serve you.   You’ll have improved access to services such as basic needs, employment and housing.  This information will help us understand community needs and is used to advocate for funding.  If you have any questions or would like a copy of the Privacy Notice, let me know.

If Client is ready to get started– they agree to share their information in HMIS.  

  • Click Add Release of Information
  • Provider will be your ADMIN provider
  • Release Granted = Yes
  • End Date is 10 years after Start Date


If client has concerns about sharing information:

  • Make sure that this is the client's concern and not your concern about sharing data.
  • Allow the client to identify the concern. If they still do not want to share their information, continue following the steps in this process
  • Does this program require data sharing? Be sure to let the client know
  • Offer the client a copy of the Privacy Notice
  • Complete the assessment on a paper form
  • Fill out the Limited Visibility Request form and give to your agency admin
