- Start with the oldest entry first – It needs to go back at least 3 years.
- Make sure there are no gaps or overlapping dates in 3-year history.
- Stays with friends/family less than 7 nights & stays in institutions less than 90 days do not constitute a break in homelessness episode (If literally homeless prior to these stays).
- Fluctuating between place not meant for habitation and shelters does not constitute a break in homelessness episode.
- Stays in hotels/motels, paid for by the individual, more than 7 nights does constitute a break in homelessness.
