For assistance navigating Business Objects, please reference this helpdesk article: How to Access ART (BusinessObjects). Once in Business Objects, the Bed Utilization report is located within the Projects and Providers folder. You will be given four prompts, please fill them out accordingly and click Run.
Bed Utilization Summary
Once your report has completed running, it will have three main sections. The top section offers a summary of your bed utilization.
Bed & Unit Inventory Detail
The second part of the report shows the inventory the Lane County HMIS has in its system for your project. In the example below, the project has units / beds for three different types of households. Additionally, the last two columns show the start and end date of the inventory, so you can see how inventories have changed over time.
Units: Number of Households that can be served
Beds: Number of individual clients that can be served
Important! If you find the system has incorrect inventory numbers for your project, please email HSDHelpdesk@lanecountyor.gov so we can make needed updates.
Projects with One Inventory Type
If your project only has one type of inventory, your report have one row with that type, and will look like this:
Projects with Multiple Inventory Types
If your project has multiple inventory types, you will see a Row for each of the types. In this example, there is 1 unit and 2 beds for Households with at least one adult and one child, 1 unit and 1 bed for Households with only children, and 2 units and 3 beds for Households without children.
Projects with Changing Inventories
If your project has been around for awhile, you likely will see updates to the units and beds for the different inventory types over time. Please pay special attention to the Inventory Start Date and Inventory End Date to look for the latest inventory numbers.
Household & Individual Detail
The last part of the report will provide a list of clients, their Household Type, ID, and Size. You will also be able to see their Entry and Exit dates for your project.
